The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. • @vikramjit…haha…tumhare mu main ghee shakkar…:P ….no man…I just tried my best..and i know everyone did their best… I am preparing for the worst but hoping for the best..and even if we don’t make it..it’s not the end of the world…as simple as that…:)

    @kishorejit. In my GS paper i am hoping for 120. In my GE i am expecting 140. In my History optional i am expecting around 140 in both papers. In my geography optional i am hoping for around 130 in both papers.

    @din. You should already be giving us a treat. Going by your performance, confidence and expectations, you will be most probably among the toppers.

  • @diganta, the ccpe 2014 cut-off for d OC aspirants shud b in between 245-255. d attendance was paltry.

    d results of d 2013 mains & 2014 prelims wud probably b out in nov. do not expect d same to b declared in oct due to d following reasons :

    1. density of festivals in oct
    2. apsc employees wud b on extended leaves
    3. subject-code related blunder in d 2014 prelims (apsc wud b extra-cautious)
    4. writ-petition verdict still pending wit d high court (rememer d 2013 prelims wrong answer-key blunder??)

    @sameer, as i told u before, a score of 800 shud b able to fetch u a post. uncross ur fingers, if u, by any chance, r in dat superstitious mode.

    frndz, der is nothing called tough or easy evaluation. d mark wic one scores relies almost entirely on d legibility n appropriateness of his / her answers. if ur answers r bang on target u will get a good score else ur back-door will b banged. as simple as dat.

    mood of d evaluator, XYZ is a low scoring paper, manyyyy did well dis tym so d cut-off wud rise, too much corruption in apsc etc r all garbages. just ignore dem. arey bhaiyya if u knw dat apsc is bloody corrupt den y d hell u all r writing d exam? is apsc forcing u all?

    live a simple life. do not make ur life complicated. breathe easy n enjoy d festivals. cheers!

    Why so late this time in declaring mains result!!!

  • @kishorjit….see no one knows about psychology…!!! anyway..196/200 in viva…..that’s really high…from the list you gave, seems like pol science is not that scoring…let’s see…the only thing I am expecting is that there is no manipulation in the exam results…whether I sail through or not I hope only the deserving ones get selected…:)

    @Din
    From ur analysis I think that u ll get a high score….a high score in mains ..say around 900/1400(65 percent) itself fixes a spot in d top slot…

  • @ kishorjit…thanks for your analysis…:)…in my graduation I never scored less than 95 out of 100 in psychology in any semester. ..I wrote that way…but if I score that good here I will be the topper…
    he he. ..jokes apart….I am.expecting 150 each in psychology paper…pol science I can’t be really that confident because although I am satisfied with my exam, it’s the first time I wrote a pol science paper…about my general studies paper…I attempted all the questions…four marks from the short questions were wrong…English grammer part was good…attemepted all questions but you know they are very subjective. ….so now I am keeping my fingers crossed. ..oh also I am from OC women….:)

    @Din
    Ya…u cant presume anything..u can only expect gud score if ur paper is gud/v.gud or even exceptional..here i m assuming more than 60 percent as gud score..I dnt knw abt psychology bt in pol.science a lot depend on evaluator…if liberal he ll give u high score for a high standard answer n if traditional conservative type, may give u average mark for d same answer.Some subject by nature is scoring like Economics,Geography,n all d science subject n in APSC there is not rationing of weightage like in UPSC.There is one more thing these subject are taken by those who had it in there graduation n evaluator knows that.By d way what is ur total expectation of marks subject-wise?

  • @kishorjit…thanks…yes I know about that…I was not talking about prelims..
    was referring to mains 2013…what I meant was how high the scores in the optional go…?? both my optional papers were really good…but I can’t really assume anything unless I know how generous these examiners are….!!!

    @Sameer
    I mean 800/850/900 in mains only….dnt get confused

  • Hi frns
    I had appeared in 2013 mains with History and Education as optionals . While d history papers were good but in case of education although I have done well but I hav been told that its difficult to get good marks in education. Can anyone comment on education optional scoring chance/pattern??

  • This year cutt of according to me Open category(Gen)250(62%) OBC 225(56%).fnd n
    Monika plz comment about cut of.

  • kishorjit das on

    @Vikramjit
    What is ur expectation in d last mains?

  • kishorjit das on

    @Sameer
    It ll b a v.gud score n u ll surely b in d top 75,bcoz last time only 40 candidates got more than 800..only 5 got more than 900 and only 10 got more than 850

  • Vikramjit Lama on

    @sameer. Hope your expectations come true. Rest of you guys, come on, lets discuss mains marks instead of cutoffs.

  • kishorjit das on

    @Diganta
    Bang on target Diganta..I too have similar projection..however open category may rise by 2-4 marks

  • kishorjit das on

    @Din
    There is no subject wise cut of,marks of two paper ll be added.Total no. of vacancies ll be multiplied by 12, i.e 180*12=2160 candidates ll be called according to merit list,keeping in view the reservation for all categories.For ex. around(50 percent) 90*12=1080 ll be called in open category…out of that 30 percent reservation for women i.e .30*=324 women ll b called in O.C..
