APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2009 Final Cutoff:

Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts Combined Competitive Examination for recruiting in various posts under Assam Civil Services and allied services. Following are the category wise cutoff marks of APSC CCE Final exam 2009 (also called as 2011), result of which was announced on April 26, 2013.

CATEGORY

The marks above include interview. That means they are out of all total 1600, not just 1400 of CC (Main) Exam. The highest cutoff was 961 or 60.06% for ACS and APS posts in open category. The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. • Thank you so much @din

  • @vidhan….for pol science first paper, I bought separate books for different political thinkers like plato, gandhi, marx…i got them from a library, made notes and returned the books….also I got the KKH MA books…they are good….and for kind of questions that might come in exam, I referred some book called ACS mains pol science. ..you get that book outside apsc office. .

for psychology, to begin with class 11th and 12th NCERT pdhycology text books …if you read those two books properly… (pura mon di) you can score over 75 per cent in this paper in prelims. ..

  • @pranjal….kiba kabale bhoi lage iat…..that it might hurt someone’s sentiments or that someone might get me wrong…..

@ those…who are thinking of appearing in the upcoming prelims, I think psychology and pol science are scoring subjects. …almost both subjects were new to me..yet I could finish the syllabus in four months….if I could do it, anyone can….especially if you had biology in H.S or grads, psychology would be a very good option. .

  • Somebody please advise how to score good marks in sociology .I am really worried, last year i got horrible marks.only 62 in first paper despite writing very well and to the point.

  • I only pray n hope that the result of this examination comes out after the election, may be change in the govt. might discourage the present commission from corrupt practice….i totally blame this govt for this fisco, without the govt support they dare not have created such controversy.

  • Akhil is in the field.I do nt subscribe to his political ideologies but the list should get scrapped. The main agenda should be deprivation of genuine candidates.scrap the list…

  • @ Prasanta.. Yes the level of the GS question paper seems pathetic this time. A question on decentralized planning was being asked twice. Although we are not experts here to comment on the style of question paper setting, but yes, the level of these questions are far lower than most other state Public service Commissions. I do not understand what is the point of asking factual questions like the winner of Pulitzer Prize and blah blah for a civil services mains examination. Had it been prelims, then also it could have been understood.

Last year before the mains examination I remember a list of the candidates (who qualified in prelims and got selected to write mains) being published on the commission’s website along with their roll numbers and father’s names. This however does not seem to be the case this time.
