The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. @Mona,
I aperd in d last intrvw.Though i could nt clear d exam(my mains marks was poor,i jst sneaked in to viva,though viva marks was good)i m sharing my exprnce since u hv askd.3 membrs were there in d board,2 apsc membr n 1 expert member,in my board d expert member was d lower assam commisioner,a non assamese IAS officer aged around 40.D intrvw lasted for around 20-25 mnts.They threw around 40 questions(in aggregate)to me starting from my background,education,hobbies,economics(my honours subject-5-6 questions were askd on it),assam geography,assam history,sankardeva,cold war,polar war(i could nt answer it as i have nt heard abt it).D expert member askd in detail abt FDI n its implications in India which lasted for around 8-9 mnts,why want to bcome a bureaucrat n some other questions which i could nt recollect now.It is nt so importnant whether u know d answer or not,bcoz they hv tested ur knowledge in Mains, they basicly see ur confidence level,.comunication skil,leadership quality,mental alertness,analytical ability,honesty n integrity-i mean if u dnt know a answer simply say u dnt knw. if they ask ur hobby,answer what ur true hobby is.It may b watching movie,music etc..dnt give diferent answer to impress them ..for ex-dnt say reading books if ur hobby is watching movie..they may catch u if u lie..n ll give a negative impression of u on them..jst b urself ..Immediately after d interview u ll b askd to write a summary of ur experience in d intrview in a diferent room in 15 mnts.D summary carries 10 marks.

Hello Freinds,
Do we have someone who have appeared in Interview last time in this forum. If you can share your experience it would be a huge help for those who are hoping to crack the mains-2013. Recently this forum has generated some pace and some fruitful discussion going on. sharing Interview experiences would make this forum even more generous.
Also It would be great if @Admin can come up with an Article familiarizing us about the pattern and process of Interview.

@pranjit. Only those people who ultimately get selected, only their marks will be displayed. I dont really know whether the RTI route really helps for all mains candidates to know their mains marks. Anybody having a better knowledge on this may pl discuss.
@vikramjit what is the earliest possible way to know our mains marks…..?
@pranjit. The mains marks are not declared along with the mains results. Thus, we have no idea of our scores.

Nice platform
Ahem ahem……there’s a lot of talk going on regarding morality, honesty and ethics on becoming a civil servant. Very interesting.
@Sam
See ..dre is no qualifying marks in GS n GE, n subject wise marks of candidates sharply varies from candidate to candidate whether selected or not…it is d total marks, that counts.However those who does well in all d papers surely get a gud score…bt there are instances where some people does exceptionally well in a single paper n having average marks in others..for ex. one of my friend got 250/300 in GS paper alone i.e 83 prcnt and scored 461/1100 in all other papers i.e 42 prcnt n still he managed get a post in bottom of d final list.
@Kishorjit….thank you for the info…and by avg marks i meant,the score which most candidates are likely to get in GS and G.Eng,who might get an interview call. Or if you have the knowledge of this pattern in the previous exam that would also suffice my querry…
@Din
Thnx for rply…i thouhgt u got me all wrong.Ya…if everyone does his legitimate duty n dnt fall into d prey of circumstances, we ll definitly have a beter society.And I sincerely dnt believe d phrase: Honesty is d lack of opportunty,bcoz i hv cum across several people who r outrightly honest.
@kishorjit…not at all…I totally understand….and I really hope everyone of our generation believe in that…..we don’t need to worry about changing the world. ..what is required is that each of us hold on to honesty no matter what or how bad the circumstances are….if everyone that cracks apsc believes in your or my philosophy I don’t think the doubts and questions about apsc will ever arise…
