Anundoram Borooah Award

Anundoram Borooah Award is a prestigious award in honour of Ananda Ram Barua. It is awarded to Indian citizens, specially inhabitants of the state of Assam, who set high standards of excellence in the fields of Sanskrit and allied Indological studies, literary & linguistic studies, and studies in art and culture. Anundoram Borooah Award was instituted in the year 1991 by the Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language, Art & Culture, Assam (ABILAC). It’s first recipient was Rajanikanta  Dev Sarma.

The award:

Anundoram Borooah Award comprises of a cash prize and a citation. Initially the award money was Rs. 50,000. But now it is Rs 1,00,000.
