Indian Overseas Bank invites online applications from Indian Citizens for the post of Probationary Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale – I. There are total 1500 bank PO job posts in this 2012 recruitment drive. Candidates who have taken the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in Sept / Nov 2011 and obtained a valid IBPS CWE-PO / MT – 2011 Score Card and who meet the eligibility criteria may apply for the post. Total 1500 posts of Bank Probationary Officer under JMGS-1 scale.

Reservations:

SC: 223; ST: 149; OBC: 392; General: 736
Of the total, 18 posts for Visually Impaired; 22 posts for Hearing Impaired, and 20 posts for Orthopaedically Challenged candidates.

Eligibility Requirements:

Nationality/citizenship: A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Requirement: Graduation from a recognised university/Institution with minimum 60% Marks. (For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PC category minimum 55% Marks).

IBPS Score Requirement: For General Category: TWS – Minimum 120. For Reserved Category (SC/ST/OBC/PC): TWS – Minimum 105

Age Requirement: Minimum: 21 Years and Maximum: 30 Years  (As on 01.07.2011)

Other requirements: Computer literacy is an essential qualification for this job. Candidate must either possess the qualification before or acquire within six months of joining the Bank. Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF) from Indian Institute Of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is a desirable.

  • Log on to Bank’s website www.iob.in and click “Careers” column in the bottom of the page. There you can find the advertisement in Hindi and English. Also, the online application link will be available on the same same (from 30.03.2012 to 19.04.2012).
  • Read the advertisement, check eligibility criteria and other details
  • Applicants are required to take a print out of blank Payment Receipt Challan available as an Annexure with this notification.
  • Before applying on-line, the candidate has to remit the application fee/ postage charge as applicable to the candidate with the filled up Payment Receipt Challan in any of Indian Overseas Bank’s branches by means of cash only and collect candidate’s copy of Payment Receipt Challan for the application fee / postage charge paid. Ensure that the following information has been correctly entered: (1) Branch Name & Code Number (2) Transaction ID (3) Date of deposit and amount.
  • After remitting the application fees/ postage charge, revisit the Bank’s website www.iob.in and open the Career Page and Click apply on-line link below the Recruitment of 1500 Probationary Officers 2012 link.  Fill up the required details provided in the online application form. After filling up all the details submit the application online. Take a printout of the system generated online application form (it is needed to be submitted at the time of the interview). Note down the registration number and generated password future reference.
