APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2013 candidates who appeared in Mains exam are now waiting for the results. What was the cutoff last year? How was your performance? Was it good enough to make it to the list? This article is for those APSC mains candidates. Find below the cutoff marks for various categories against various posts in APSC CCE 2009.

APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2009 Final Cutoff:

Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts Combined Competitive Examination for recruiting in various posts under Assam Civil Services and allied services. Following are the category wise cutoff marks of APSC CCE Final exam 2009 (also called as 2011), result of which was announced on April 26, 2013.

CATEGORY
ACS (Assam Civil Service) APS (Assam Police Service) Superintendent of Taxes Superintendent of Excise Inspector of Taxes Inspector of Excise
General (Open)
961 938 961 957 871 927
Other Backward Classes (OBC) 923 911 917 909 838 833

Scheduled Tribe (Plains) 862 851 859 No vacancy 802 796
Scheduled Tribe (Hills) 847 846 871 No vacancy 762 No vacancy

The marks above include interview. That means they are out of all total 1600, not just 1400 of CC (Main) Exam. The highest cutoff was 961 or 60.06% for ACS and APS posts in open category. The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. • Guys, any concrete news on new advertisement.

  • @ Ajit Phukan…best thing u can do is that collect d RTI act available at various sources including internet and go through it….

Apsc can’t deny any information unless it is very confidential & I don’t think marks of selected candidates and their answer script is something d act allows Apsc to keep secret….

Finally d track record shows that who concentrate more on one’s own studies rather than marks secured by others… has more chances of qualifying..

  • @etc…Why I said so is that unless we know which is which we can not point fingers. We dont know and why point fingers.Nothing personal.Just feel that way.

Secondly I had all along been believing that upto mains everything is transparent.

But my point is,even with RTI,you will never know.

  • @xyz……….I did not keep upto your expectations. But I guess the forum is that of the Administratos and not yours. There is nothing wrong in understanding the RTI Process of APSC.I did not know and accept and now (thanks to administratos) I understand more clearly.

Well do you fear that some something will pass though the hole you are somehow hiding.

So much arrogance for just clearing the MAINS.

  • guys always be positive…have faith in the system or restrain from those exams on which you don’t have trust yet you have been continuously selected…I.e.prelims;mains;and I am sure this system will make you qualify in the viva too….then you will not even write a single word in favour of the same….strange….

  • @Ajit
    apart from courage concept.. who even cannot write Assamese properly is a mystery… but yes upto mains all is transperent….in viva also nothing big can be manipulated….90% candidates will be selected purely on what they deserve….I am sure who have done extremely well in viva they can get up to 197…and who has been winded up by the members trap….can expect 60-90.and average people will get 110-130;
    courage…….discouraging

  • Some bizarre people and even more bizarre their analysis of RTI and all is making this discussion utter stupid. People should learn to accept their fate- if somebody did not qualify in the mains, it does not mean that someone who qualified actually made it through ulterior channels. Instead of picking holes in others, people like Ajjt Phukan should ideally channelise their energies for the next mains.

  • prabhat pegu on

what could be the average mark in the interview.i think by now our fate has already been sealed in a confidential file.

  • @etc..Possibility is still there that someone appeared in Assamese Langauge and his writing skills are par excellence in that language.Just a possibility.

Anyways, all along I had been thinking that the process till the mains results are transparent. And that the lubrication part if any is limited to just 40-50 marks. Is plausible because even 20-30 marks can make a lot of difference.A lot I mean, from Grade 1 to Grade 2 or even lower to not being selected.I some how still hold the view.

But the RTI process (I learned today here only) doesnt fit into the above scheme.

    Suppose A gets X (-200 Cut off marks)+ Interview= Finally Selected.Assuiming is still a typo error.

B,not selected candidate(who don’t know who A is or how much A received) files RTI.Gets the list of marks obtained by all candidates.

APSC gives the list showing (X-getting 50/60/100/200 above cut off)+Interview=Finally selected.

How does B know that there was one candidate in A who was actually -200 lower than the cut off and finally selected.

    Strange.

Someone having more insight can please throw light.

  • the writing style of courage never seems that he could score more than 450.seriously if he passes it would be a miracle.but I am afraid his confidence shows something different.it is really how could he clear the mains with such a below the standard writing.

  • Dear Admins,

Thanks much for the prompt reply. Appreciated. RTI format attached here should be of much help. What I understand from your experience is that RTI is limited to individual candidates ONLY.

Comparatively seems of lesser value since we don’t have access to even Topper’s booklets.Wouldn’t they help aspiring candidates.

I am not sure if it is the same for UPSC wherein also you cant see other’s booklets.

Makes the whole process a bit hazy still since is a competitive exam based on comparitive marks.

    Thanks
    Ajit

  • @Ajit Phukan,
APSC provides marks, copies of OMR sheets, mains answer sheets and other info such as category-wise cutoff etc under RTI. One can request only his/her own OMR sheets and answer sheets. That’s what they told. We are not sure if they provide answer sheets of other candidates. But yes, marks obtained by all successful candidates are provided. The marks are provided nicely formatted pages. The RTI department looks responsive, so far. Sometimes there is delay (more than 30 days) in reply due to requirement of authorization or a signature. Do you need help with the application? We can publish our RTI format here.

  • Hello Admins,

Since you might have experince of RTI from past would you please let us know what all you can know post exams reults are out.Whats the prescribed format. How long it takes to elicit response from with reply.

My question is still the same as my previous query if you can see the booklets of other candidates who have cleared the exams and their marks obtained.

What are the limitations of knowing about marks etc etc.

    Regards

  • Friends. My Question is regarding RTI applications at APSC once final results are out for CCE2013.Some one told me that through RTI you can only check your Answer Booklets. This I am alerady aware of.

Suppose I want to see the Answer Bookslets of those selected. Is it permitted.

Any one of you having past experience can enlighten please.

  • The 2009 cutoffs should not ideally be used to mathematically deduce cutoffs for the 2013 exam as the situation is different this time. There were 60 (ACS) and 30 (APS) posts in 2009. This time, the figures are higher at 90 (ACS) and 60 (APS).

Again, the number of candidates scoring above 900 in mains this time would be quite small -max 20( Last time, the number of candidates scoring above 850 in mains was just 10). But, there would be quite a few candidates in the range of 850-900 in mains. If we consider 140-150 as the average marks in mains, in and around 1000 could be possibly the cutoff for Class I posts (ACS and APS) this time.

  • Its not official but Unreserved cutoff for ACS should be around 1055 plus…..I think the official cutoff would be very near to this figure.

  • I think the cut off for ACS general category will be 1030 above..Because last time the last candidate who was called for interview got 688 marks. But this time it’s 766 (78 marks higher than last year). So going by that the overall qualifying score for ACS unreserved category should be around (961+78)=1039. :) :) mathematically.

  • by now we have clear idea that Mains 13 result will be out in April…

@ lots of question marks ……Good analysis

@ Winner….Hopefully u have correct information like last time around…

@Ajit…..Bimal Kishore case along wid 2 other cases pending yet these cases have no bearing on declaring d final result of 2013 Edition

@All….all d best for next mains and d final result..

  • mathematical relationships based on following facts
    1)Last year general cutoff 961
    2)Considering 2013 general cutoff as766
The final cutoff for cce final including interview will be 989 to 1001 for acs general category.

  • Mains 2014 or agot. .2013 final list dibo ney…
