APSC CCE 2009 Final Cutoff Marks (Mains + Interview)
APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2013 candidates who appeared in Mains exam are now waiting for the results. What was the cutoff last year? How was your performance? Was it good enough to make it to the list? This article is for those APSC mains candidates. Find below the cutoff marks for various categories against various posts in APSC CCE 2009.
APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2009 Final Cutoff:
Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts Combined Competitive Examination for recruiting in various posts under Assam Civil Services and allied services. Following are the category wise cutoff marks of APSC CCE Final exam 2009 (also called as 2011), result of which was announced on April 26, 2013.

The marks above include interview. That means they are out of all total 1600, not just 1400 of CC (Main) Exam. The highest cutoff was 961 or 60.06% for ACS and APS posts in open category. The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. What is the pattern for calling for interview. Are those who scored low marks called later or is there another pattern?

Hii guys… The date of interview was declared today.. I am unable to understand the pattern..is it random? Or is it quota wise like some from open category ,some from obc,some from st sc per day.. Any information please share..administrator?
Heard that controller’s daughter also appeared for cc 2013 mains.. Does anybody know if she cleared it?

Good humor.Makes me laugh.
Wel I was again going trough the GS question paper cc mains 2013.By any standard one will have to write around 4500+ words in a span of 3 hours,if one desires to complete the paper. Besides some of the questions are not so lite n requires thinking..like, questions on demographic dividend, directive principles,administrative decentralisation etc.
That means one will have to run very fast…like a rocket.
This being a GS paper and with no one source,makes things rather difficult.And someone said here cramming helps,but it is not possible to cramm everything.Cramming does yield sketchy answers.This brings me to the same outrageous score of 97% in GS cc main 2009. Who was that Superman??? What did he consume to deliver such perfect answers??? 289/300 mind blowing!!!
And do kip an eye on the final list. The kiths and kins of existing ministers;MLAs, bureaucrats are sure to figure in the final list.They are the lucky sperm club of Assam.They don’t want others to climb the social ladder.
Hridoy,did u clear mains friend?what were your optionals.r u preparing full time.
@MAX What i menat by UPSC members was that these people who came down to the APSC are those who are associated with scrutiny process of the UPSC and NOT the Commission members.
On the issue of the RTI replay regarding our own marks, their justification is that If a candidate knows he/she is safe or has high marks, then he/she may become non-serious regarding the interview and would lower the quality of the selection process.
@ Safikul : I think you can file an RTI and check your answer sheets and marks after the whole process is over, i.e. after the final list is out. UPSC and APSC cannot disclose 3rd party information at this moment. That is not under the provisions of the RTI Act. But you can surely do it after the process is over. I had filed RTIs with UPSC and they have given me a clear explanation as to why these information cannot be disclosed by them before the final list is out.
@MAX: UPSC members did came to scrutinize APSC mains papers. They made sure that no act of omission was done during the process of the Marking. It is indeed a good step by APSC. A total of 5 members came as far as I know.

I was reading one of 2009-ACS-Grade-1 selected candidate’s writing (He wrote on some issue) in one of his Facebook posts.He wrote in English.Apparently he was from an Assamese medium school but his writing style and the way of presentation grounded me. Such lucid writing and clarity of expression ought to be an Officer for sure. Out there people with very good writing skills do really exist.

@Hriday… You said that some members from UPSC came to scrutinise our papers. Thats a fresh new information. Are you sure of that? If its true then its a wonderful and mature step taken by APSC.. Is there any new method they have introduced in the interview to make the process more transparent. Some months back a news attracted my notice which stated that APSC would video record the whole interview and give CDs to individuals.
