The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. Alright guys, thanks for your accurate speculations regarding the exact month the results are going to be declared. Some of you say September, some October and some November. And the best part, all you guys say the APSC office has confirmed such.
Pranjal

I have rang up APSC office today at 12AM’ official has said that it will take time to declare the mains result it is not likely to declare in October.
Friends
Result is expected in second week of october.
@tushar cant we knw using RTI ?
@Pranjit,
You cannot know mains marks before interview is over.
How will we get to knw our mains marks before viva(if cleared)?
What was the cut off of prelims??
Thats some cool questions asked out there monica. However, its upsetting hearing about rampant instances of cheating and corruption to fill a good number of the posts which we seek to get. Sad. Everything seems to be going to the dogs.

@pran. If what u say is the case, god help us.
APSC has uploaded a list of rejected candidates with at least 10000 rejected number list for the forthcoming prelims 2014.
Believe it or not, several candidates appeared APSC 2013 final with leaked question papers. At least in GS paper, I noticed that. Three other fellow candidates also confirmed that. Those candidates in question were copying answers directly from hidden papers. If it was just another cheating, howcome they didn’t even looked at the real question paper?
Corruption is an integral part of APSC. Majority of the posts are allotted on the basis of influence or favour. Rest are recruited on the basis of merit. But their marks and ranks depend on performance of candidates selected through the other route.
Guys, if you score between 750 and 850 in your mains marks, i guess you will certainly stand a good chance in the final list.
What will be the safe score to get selected in the final list for obc ?any guess…..
The ‘safe’ side means marks needed to have good chances in the final selection.
Hi v.kakati and monica…i was just going through your discussions. I believe the cutoffs will be higher this time as compared to the previous main marks because thats the way its going to be now on. More candidates would be sitting for the exams each year, the number of seats being more or less constant. For a gen cat candidate, scoring atleast 800 marks is important to be on the safe side.
