The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. • happy friendship to all the members of assam info

  • thanks dimbee for your valuable suggestion.i will try my best.infact I have been trying.can you please give me your email address. I need your help.

  • @ANKUR,please don’t wait,i wish few aspirants would gather together and submit an application to chairman & chief exam controller ,or it would be same as crying over spilled milk.Don’t just wait, i went through the same anger and pain for cce’13.

  • @ Dimbee
U r absolutely right about sociology..i hv appeared mains three times, n got my marks accordingly…i got surprised to c that Sociology marks were absolutely unacceptable,i got my answer sheet also…they just hv d system of awarding marks 8/9/10 out of 25 marks(prior to 2014 mains)…Sociology marks hs always ruined d prospect of my final selection…this time too(mains 2014) it was no exception…i got 99 n 65(though have not recieved the answer scripts yet)…This is a serious issue…something must be terribly wrong with d evaluation of Sociology paper…The Chairman n d Pricipal Controller of examination should b apprised of it…we cant lose year after year due to someone else utter irresponsibilty n negligence….

  • @Actually medium has nothing to do with your written English,i too am from Assamese Medium, but i have my English poems published abroad or even won online English poetry competitions ,what matters is your willingness to improve English and rectify your flaws.First and foremost thing would be being grammatically strong, must know the use of tenses, parts of speech, past participles, articles ..voice etc..try writing simple sentences first but without any mistakes, i have seen so many even at this stage don’t exactly knowing the use of correct tenses.Very Shameful.Once you are grammatically confident, improve your vocabulary, try learning new words everyday …this will improve your confidence, try using those words in sentences ,not just cram them to memory. Then learn using group verbs ,phrases etc……Be patient, take some time as things known in a hurry won’t help you over a long time.As far as any Grammar Book is considered frankly use any simple good quality basic English grammar like Good English or Standard English to strengthen your basics.Once your basic grammar part is correct,English would slowly be a hunky dory..Btw, i am also a learner,i too try to improve my writing and learn from people who know more or write better, everyone is a learner in fact .All the best wishes..

  • dimbee despite of your poor health condition you have really scored well.i salute you.dimbee please guide us how to do well in general english.i am not good in grammar. infact sometimes I get confused. I am from assamese medium background. which grammar book is best to be good in english grammar.

  • 120 in each paper of education?

  • @dimbe,give some tips for answer writing in GS and English. Also, tell the books u followed for Education.

  • @Since i belonged to OH category my marks were less than the open category cutoffs, but then thinking about my pathetic health with only my right hand in working condition ,i feel i didn’t do that badly. However i am still very upset about my marks in sociology where i scored 85 to 90 despite doing well,in my first attempt in cce ’13 when i failed after interview i scored only 65 in sociology 1st paper.I would really want you people appearing this time to write an application to chairman nd chief exam controller telling how the abysmal marks in sociology would ruin your final selection chances requesting them to direct the examiners to be a bit careful and responsible..Otherwise i got 184 is GS,180 in GE and 120 around in Education.Try to write clearly and precisely, must have neat handwriting.length of answers don’t matter much.I suffered from poor handwriting.

  • A PIL has bn filed against d entire selection list 2014 as it contains d name of sum1 related to APSC Exam branch…so delay is sure to take place as d govt has taken it very seriously directions hv bn issued to hold d appointments until d case is over…Paribartan.

  • Yes definitely apsc will conduct 2016 prelims ! But still apsc not got exact number of vacancy….. from govt !

It 2 late extension officer result , we need to do something.. 5 months passed .. how much time thy need to check 12 k omr sheet ? It just matter of max 10 days . Playing with life of unemployed youth of Assam .

  • Is there any chance for fresh notification? Any insider information on tentative dates?

  • Subject doesn’t matter..it depends on handwriting and presentation skills..yes its true to some extent that sociology is low scoring…but many have cleared with sociology this time…same is true for education.

  • I think history , assamese, polscience more scoring than the other subjects. assamese is scoring. my brother took history and assamese as an optional subject. in both the optional subject he scored well.education sociology less scoring subject, actually these two optional is scoring subject but can’t understand why the examiner does not want to give marks. it happens only in apsc. in upsc it is noticed that sociology is quite scoring subject. most of the candidates prefer to take this subject as an optional.

  • How is geography as an optional??? Is it scoring???
