APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. For views and opinion related to APSC civil services exam, don’t forget to view this APSC 2013 discussion page.
@ Raj in CCE 13 marks of both subjects were very low but this time lots of candidates from these subjects cleared so can’t say exactly… political science is vast but it will help u in GS paper and easy to find study material. For Sociology though I cleared Mains with it , not so helpful for GS , but has short syllabus so if u comfortable with quotes and definitions of others than it may be chosen, for study material of Sociology I think goolmal already mentioned it….
really worried for final result # went for Raman raghav
@ nupur9. Which is more scoring as optional political science or sociology ? Your guidance in this regard will be most appreciated.
@Rahul…wrote 2013 mains with geo as one of the optionals couldn’t qualify..this time with socio and pol scnce got thrgh..for upsc geo is good coz lot of material to choose from but for apsc couldn’t evn find a questn bank with model answrs relatd to geo..so thnk twice..i dnt knw the fascinatn that apsc has with questn banks..it really helps as is the case with othr optionals..so dnt fall in the trap of choosng an optional whch interests u but go for the one which mght take u thrgh
Thank you pallav & Nupur , & others all the best for final result .
No results today.. kaile dise bhal chance ase. Nohole porohi khatang. Take geography if comfortable. It’s scoring than sociology. Nupur :)

restless #impatient#anxious
Rahul it’s none but u have to decide bro … geography is more scoring than Sociology and APSC normally doesn’t set questions out of the blue so u can cover whole syllabus of any subject in exam
To seniors who already appeared in mains plz guide me ..
Which optional is to take geography or sociology ? Me in dilemma
Geography vast syllabus but I enjoy while reading ,interest me ,but exam level of its question can changed like upsc difficult ,need think out of book to answer this !
Sociology short syllabus even shorter than upsc , I read ncert & some other notes but feel bore in paper 1 syllabus , comfortable with paper 2 can linked with mine other optional . Whatever question is asked u can answer level not changed !
So what to choose ?

@ shilpika. Get your facts cleared before indulging in criticism of other people. … otherwise you would transform yourself into a laughing-stock in this forum.
@Pallav,what were your optionals?what was your score breakup?if you dont mind please..
@ Pallav
Bro plz share ur experince particulary for d english paper..
@ All
Pallav has raised two important points 1. Our general ignorance towards general english paper(we hardly study a week or so for d english paper,n get a meagre 120-130)
2. Our choice f preference, Pallav is a living example f dis ignorance. He scored d marks dat would got him his actually desired job,but he choosed d wrong preference.
@ Pallav
U hv scored very gud marks in G.English. Plz give some idea how to prepare d english paper. Particularly d precis, comprehension part. I m sure it ll b helpful for many guys out here…
@pallav,, thanks so much for the detailed genuine update..I am sure you would sail through this time,, Don’t get pestered by a few contentious guys of this forum,, they are best avoided,, don’t even bother to reply,, that’s what a few well mannered have stuck to
@pallav wants us to learn from his mistake,, so soak in the lesson, thank him & move on
