The marks above include interview. That means they are out of all total 1600, not just 1400 of CC (Main) Exam. The highest cutoff was 961 or 60.06% for ACS and APS posts in open category. The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. For views and opinion related to APSC civil services exam, don’t forget to view this APSC 2013 discussion page.
@shilpika.. aitu forum t ajikali aku share nokora holu tumalukor nisina buror karone.. get the informations correct before arguing. DTO cut off was 1090 or something like that. I would have gotten good rank in acs or Aps if I had put those ahead of ST. But as I said, I put the wrong preference and later realized that police service would be better for my personality.
@Sen.. m working as an engineer in one of the maharatna.
@Shilpika
As I understood Pallav s first preference was DTO …2nd was ST
After reality check of ST.. if he was given second chance he would have opted for APS..
He said he got very poor marks in VIVA…
Kali tumar ata peg besi hol sage …
@pallav Cutoffs for ACS and APS were 1031 and 1012 respectively, in 2013 cce. If you had got 190(hypothetically) then your total would have been 1080…..so you would have breezed into any service category. However, you say even 190 would not gave given you APS. And then you take the joke further by saying you turned down Suptd. of Taxes!!!
@ pallav. Buddy you do possess one brilliant mind…….Thanks for sharing your knowledgeable experiences in this forum.
Thanks Pallab
What r u doing presently
I got superintendent of taxes. However later I realized my current job is better than ST, so didn’t join. I would have selected APS if I was given second chance.
@shilpika.. if u get 850 above then u have good chance. Hopefully new system would bring clarity in interview marks. I was given very pathetic marks in interview. It shouldn’t happen to anyone. However I couldn’t get my first preference even if they had given me 190 out of 200 in the interview. So peace. All the best. And make it a good platform for discussion. Don’t use it as personal fight and ego fight. Many successful candidates have used this thread last year for preparation.
@ Pallav
Good insight from a successfull candidate, what were ur optionals??
@ pallav Dada you got 890…..so did you get selected? If yes, then which service? How much do you think a general candidate should get in mains to have a good chance of getting selected in ACS this time.
ISRO series of satellites, Govt schemes, parliamentary procedure and rules and important terms should not be skipped.
(Sorry.. I didn’t write NOT which totally changed the meaning)
And one more thing. When you fill up the mains application form and preferences, always I say again Always talk to someone who is working in that service. Don’t go by general perception that this service is better that this service. Once you submit you can’t change it. I have suffered severely in haste. So take some time to put the correct order of preference as per your requirement.
Looks like everyone is quite sure that final result date is tomorrow.@Radical don’t look for coaching institutes at this stage. Self study is utmost important. For GS and optional papers, collect as much previous question papers as possible. Try to find the trend. Apsc is not like upsc. They usually repeat the questions as fast as the optionals are concerned. Write as much as you can and consult a college lecturer of that particular subject.
As for GS, get assam year book, India 2016 and regular news papers should be adequate. ISRO series of satellites, Govt schemes, parliamentary procedure and rules and important terms should be skipped. Also for assam related long questions, get “Assam geographical profile” by Taher nd Ahmed. Don’t go into the technicalities, just read the problems and suggestions. Writing practice is very important. And the most important thing, students always ignore English which can fetch good marks. I got 217 in last mains English paper which contributed a lot in my mains total of 890. Get friends or relative who is good in English literature and ask them to write essays from previous papers. Ask them to give good introduction and conclusion with quotes. You may not get the exact essay. But you can use same introduction in similar themed essay. starting should be eye-catching. It’s ok if you fill the middle portion with crap. Also practice previous years grammar. They usually repeat 80%.
Raije spelling mistakes aru grammatical mistakes r karone halla nokoribo..monot ji ase likhi dilu.
Looks like everyone is quite sure that final result date is tomorrow..
Can anyone please suggest a good coaching institute for the mains preparation? It’s a genuine concern.
All d best 2014 viva candidates
Big day ahead
