The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. For views and opinion related to APSC civil services exam, don’t forget to view this APSC 2013 discussion page.
Why apsc is delaying in issuing viva admit card, does any one know the reason.
Those who are from ghy we can meet and discuss in staff college library…..that’s a good one….please reply
About preliminary result ..I called apsc office today.they told me that preliminary result by June first week…..and they have no info regarding PI admit card
About the documents for PI.they will notify what they want…..so tell ur friend not to worry and mains admit card is not essential.
This is my second attempt.cleared last time also.in PI I got 146 but my geography marks was pathetic.so I believe due to my own fault I got low marks.i secured 952 overall.general category.but this time history was critical .even i will say a good paper.history paper should be like this…analysis of important events such things..but in PI my body language was not good and I got nervous also….so this time trying to prepare well….if any body want serious discussion I can share my number also
Prelims results???
ya resilient moiu helpdeskt xudhibo koisu
@ruby– still its better to confirm with APSC help desk, instead of regretting at the last moment.
In my opinion mains admit not required. If they needed mains admit card they wouldn’t hv uploaded interview admit card. Instead they could hv uploaded a list of candidates roll no with date of interview and asked them to carry mains admit along with other documents.
Sometimes candidates with socio/education/his/pol sc/ anthro scores well but next year other optionals might score well than socio and others. there was a time when candidates with sociology history and pol sc scored sufficiently high marks thn othr optionals. But now candidates wth pol sc getting avg marks.
Evn in UPSC pub ad was a good optional for fetching good marks way back..but now sociology psychology economics hv more selected candidates than pub ad.
Choice of optionals and answer writing is the key for final selection.
#my opinion though.
resilient mains admit nalage no.actually mor friend jon khub bhoy khaise.moiu koisu interview admit he lage.mains admit nalage.tumi sure no resilient mains admit nalage
@ruby.. interview admit is checked and other academic documents (in original).
Mains marks plays d key role in selection. due to my own negligence, i scored avg marks in optionals. after filing rti i got my answer papers and tried to find out what went wrong. I evn checkd my papers with a renowned professr. got the feedback and improved my answers.
result: cleared mains after 2 attempts.
#not only me– most of my friends with 2/3 attempts have cleared mains this time. Last time many candidates with socio/edu/pol sc/his and psychology were finally selected for appointment. This time many candidates with socio/education hv cleared mains. Socio paper was somewht like UPSC mains paper so candidates preparing for upsc might find it scorable. While education paper was also avg than last mains. So scoring as well. History and pol sc was a bit critical this time. Still anyone who covered most of the syllabus (without memorizing common questions, as it was till last time) hv easily scored well.

Thanks harjit for sharing your experience….but I want to ask you a question…if you don’t mind please answer it honestly…my question is ; do you think you didn’t find your name in the final list because of mal practices or do you believe you could have done a little better in your exam…your answer would certainly help me a lot..thanks & all the best for your PI..
i have cleared,i did last year too, my interview was good too, scored 160 i think, but my optional marks were pathetic in socio and education, unfortunately i didn’t have time to change the optionals and hence have cleared with the same subjects this year,i don’t think interview is a big worry,it’s your marks in mains that matters the most.In interview they use both english or assamese, you should be positive in your approach, tell whatever you know,if you know nothing say sorry sir i haven’t read much about this.it may take 15-30 minutes.I was asked about flagship program, india’s population, per capita income etc.Remember it’s the marks in mains that matters the most, unfortunately you know that only after the result is out:P
Next mains not in July….in Aug 2nd week
