The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. • I agree with u Siva .I too got the same information……still two months left cant say if situation forces apsc….but from march starting code of conduct and till election is over I mean election result is declared no PI or Form fill up for next mains….i enquired today…got the news so shared it….admin any info …please update

  • Guys result mains result not before April….from very reliable source…

  • @beji.. How much u expecting overall? Above 500?

  • @Siva & Sameer.. Last year in GS mains paper some candidates scored 283/273 etc. Whereas, one candidate (who was selected in UPSC CS) scored 180 in GS. I think those candidates who got above 200 were more qualified thn the one who cracked UPSC ;-)

Seriously, getting above 200 in GS is a mockery of the system. Wondering what answers they might hv written to score 200 marks.

  • what is going on ? still, d APSC has not declared the prelims result2015? how funny!!!

  • wen will b RANGER’s written exam declared? feeling very irritated… physics paper was very easy to answer n hoping to score at least above 90% in MY fav sub physics.
still, hope to be a forest ranger of forest deptt.
God is good! hope for d best

  • @siva, when the concerned party is bribed, high marks automatically follow in PI…

  • Yes Sameer i agree with u 192\200 that not a mark that’s a bomb…last time many got some unbelievable marks even in GS I mean many scoring more than 250 …i mean lot of people .i also saw the marks of selected candidates.very high margin in PI…i mean most people got 170plus in PI

  • @resilient, some of the candidates got their answer sheets after four months. I am sure many members of this forum had similar ordeal. The SC was concerned regarding the time & effort and scope of improvement of the serious civil service aspirants. To quote the SC “When a candidate is preparing for the best career option in the country, he needs to know how he performed in the exam and how his answer papers have been evaluated.”

Yes you are right. This is a very good step & should be applicable to all the state PSC… We can also compare & see what & how the toppers wrote to deserve their rankings in the merit list… I think everyone should be able to download anybody’s answer sheet…

I would like to see the answer sheet of the person who secured 192/200 in history 2nd paper in CCE 2013 mains which is a insanely high score..

  • @Sameer.. it took me around 2 & half months(or 3) to receive the answer scripts.

  • @ Sameer.. Not only IIT’s, even HC’s declare marks(W+O) during the course of the recruitment process.

UPSC declares marks only after the entire process is over. It will be interesting to see the further proceedings of the judgement. If all State PSC’s & UPSC comes under the ambit of this judgement thn the whole picture of recruitment will be crystal clear. Only time will tell.

  • @resilient, RTI is applicable across the country.. That was not the point.. The verdict was to disclose answer papers and marks tabulated during the oral interviews suo moto i.e without RTI request.. That is what IITs do.. APSC takes 3-4 months to provide answer sheets.. So it would save time for the candidates.. How many months were taken by APSC to provide you the answer sheets?

  • @Sameer.. APSC provides mains answer sheets(xerox)and marks secured by selected candidates in written & interview. Through RTI i have received all my answer sheets with the marks of finally selected candidates. So, upto this level i feel APSC is transparent thn other PSC’s (UPPSC, KPSC, RAS etc).

  • A significant development in the field of transparency of civil service exams.. Hail Supreme Court of India!

  • Looking at the unpredictable nature of apsc it is hard to tell whether cut off will fall or rise

  • @Siva.. yes last mains had a changed pattern. History paper was way too good (i.e similar to UPSC pattern). Sociology was also standard one with questions like critically analyze, evaluate, comment etc. GS still lacked the sharpness of CS paper.

    # Do you think that because of the changed question pattern, cutoff will be slightly lower than average?
