APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. • Aspirants…I don’t hv any idea about cut off mark. This is the first time I hv appered in this exam.Everything depends on performance of other candidates.

  • resilient…my optional papers are physics and evs.I am expecting 180 in physics,160 in evs,82 in gk and 60 in english. But my luck depends on others performance.Actually i am concerned about my score in english.Because english is the only paper where my score my vary…either it will increase or decrease.

  • @James25: Any idea about the 2013 Ranger cutoff

  • And some IR related questions.questions were not rapid fire
There are some other people also who appeared in interview last year…so u also post it guys…..some of my friends were asked about history of Assam some were asked about women empowerment in detail etc…so please post ur experience

  • Umm.some of the questions I forgot but important ones still fresh…first question was …Assam is backward then other states whom will u blame politician citizen or officers…..isis and al quaida difference ….who killed Laden …then name of author of some books that I can’t answer….why do u want to join civil service???? Five problems in Assam priority wise…current affairs…..NRC advantage and disadvantages…..clause 6 of Assam accord and its importance ..IPR pollution problem global warming…editor of The Hindu….

  • @Siva.. okay. I need some information about the interview. The questions asked were rapid fire type or simple unstructured questions? In which board did u appear and how many members(interviewers) were present including the chairman of the board? Do they ask anything about you optionals and your degree/masters background?

    # If possible please post your interview transcript. It will help many members present here.

  • @James25.. What are your optionals? How much ur expecting in Eng & GS?

    # 480 Min out of 600 is way too much. Anywyz you will qualify.

  • I am expecting minimum 480 in RANGER.Is there any chance to qualify in general category.

  • I appreciate ur views resilient but unfortunately Apsc does not think that way….but last year the question pattern has changed in mains.in history in which I appeared questions were critical not all but some and GS was also good …..so lets see what new changes apsc can bring ….

  • I appeared in last interview…i was asked about IR issues like Isis etc ..almost half of half and hour interview focused on such topics regarding India and IR….

  • @resilient : EVS 75 & Total around 400.

  • @Aspirants.. expecting around 75+ right questions. How much u expecting in EVS n total?

  • @Siva.. APSC should have asked questions pertaining to the topics listed by you in the GS mains paper. But, they have asked more questions on Indian economy which were more bookish.

My point: 1. Questions should be indirect and should cover diverse parts. Polity, IR, Eco, S&T, Geo, History and Current Events with equal distribution of marks.

    2. Omission of “Answer any 10/6/8 questions from the following” like parts from the paper. Instead, all questions be made compulsory. In this way no. of questions will be less and competition will be tougher.

    # If some members hv appeared in interviews earlier can share experiences in this forum if possible.

  • @resilient.. Watz ur expected score in EVS??

  • @resilient.. Sorry no idea about the 2013 Ranger cutoff.. My optional was EVS & Agri

  • @Aspirants.. EVS & Forestry. Expecting around 416. What was your optionals? What was the cutoff in 2013 for Ranger & ACF?

  • @resilient: Wat was ur optional paper for Forest ranger? How much ur expecting???

  • Well said sameer

  • Well said Sameer I agree with u…use this forum as positive thing….the new GST and Arvind Subramanian committee report important…zika virus and medicine developed in Hyderabad….chinese devaluation and impact upon India…..they are doing devaluation to reduce their imports and make their items cheaper……if any interested candidate then we can discuss all these in some time preferably at night….reply

  • Just a humble request to all the gentleman over here.. Let’s not waste time speculating over the due date of results declaration.. It yields nothing positive.. If you have any information from a reliable source you can share with us. Otherwise refrain yourself from spreading rumours with your wild guesses.. Mains syllabus is really vast. An honest approach would require a lot of consistent preparation over an elongated time period.. That’s why people cringe to give it a fair shot & opt to pay boodle to grab it.. So friends devote yourself for the right cause..
