The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. I also heard dat mains result ll declare on 13/15 november..is it true guys ..any latest update.?
@duke I agree that there may be slight increase in cut off mark across all the categories this time.. But it’s going to be slight
@DIGANTA u should start ur mission for the mains .Nobody could stop u appearing the mains 2014.
@ritu I think 240 is not absolutely safe zone for OC guys considering last year 240 cut off for OC guys .Of course OC guys scoring 240 have chance to crack the prelims but it is by no means could be a over sure score for OC guys as most of my friends claim to have secure above 65% in both paper but it is also clear that there won’t be drastic change in the cut off as compared to the previous year cut off.There may be at best 10 to 15 mark increase.

I belong to Open category……
@Ritu thank u a lot for ur enthusiastic comment.I find two APSC GS answer key confusing for D series question no 11 relating to largest source of power supply in India and question no 15 relating to highest foreign direct investment inflows into India and my optional subject was political science.
Thnak you Tridip for ur work. That document is sufficient to prove our point.
What do you think about the questn of SALSA Dance origination . I am not satisfied with the official answer.
@duke
Congrats..with 266 no one can stop u irrespective of ur reserve category.. Did you find any anomaly in apsc answer keys in GS and history if dat was ur optional subject.
My score 79%(158) in optional subject 54%(108) in GS paper and my total score is 266 (above 65% average).I think i have chance to qualify the prelims as a reserved category guy.As per my view point 60% score (in both paper) is safe zone for reserved category guys.More comments regarding expected prelims cut off are cordially welcomed.
thanks for the good news @rajiv
@rajiv
result on 15 november!!! All fingers crossed..
@hengul, rajen & tridip.
APSC is right. The largest source of power supply is indeed nuclear power; but we haven’t explored it yet.
Thermal power is the largest among the running power suppliers in India.
