APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. Fnd APSC Publish Answer key of G.S. All optional paper CCE(P)2014
@Ritu
I dont think that this time the GS paper was that easy what people r saying because last time also i hope i have scored around 55 and this time bit imprved by around 5 marks i,e 60(and that too after lot of preparations.
thanx kishorjit das. my optionals were pol science and sociology.
@rajen
well it might happen. after all its a competitive exam. But personally I wud like to believe that 260 is a little more to b cut off mark. but again its my personal opinion. one way of looking at it can be since general studies paper was comparatively easier than the last year’s, scores might go up a notch higher.
@Ritu
ur (educated) analysis is correct but i fail to understand why people are shouting that this time cut off will go beyond 260. What do u think?
@Bikash Roy
If d answer is comprehensive n precise u can expect 18-24 marks/30, depending upon d quality of ur answer(some papers like eco,agri,geography n science subjects has history of scoring high marks in comparison to other papers).long answer not necessarily fetch u gud marks. d marking pattern of a particular evaluator may influence ur mark by 2-3 marks.what was ur optional subjects?
One APSC official told me Mains results will be declared in November.
@rajen
I can only make an educated guess. I think around 240-250 for general, 220-230 for obc, St, sc. There may not b much of a diff between cut off marks of obc,St,sc. I am expecting slight increase in d cut off mark this time. I hope I m wrong :-)
@Ritu
What might be the cut off for prelim 2014 according to you?
Results of mains will most probably b declared in d last week of November or at most by 1st week of December. The reason for this delay can be attributed to elongated no of holidays dat we enjoyed this October. R u preparing for mains 2014 guys? The prelims results wud b declared just after d mains results. Good luk & god bless you all.
kishorjit das , can u pls tell me the marking patterns of mains i.e. how much I can expect from a 30 marks question if I write it correctly .
Put aside all your worries and Enjoy on this Diwali friends.. Greetings to all of you…

Hi
When rsult ll dclre
@ Kishorejit…do let me know when u send the answerscripts to kingC638@gmail.com….thanx
@Gaurav
750+ in mains ll definitly take u into viva irespective of your category.But ur category..i mean Open,OBC,ST,SC ll have influnce on ur overall standing in d final list.Considering d vacancies for different categories, 750+150(Viva marks)=900 in Open Category(due to tough competition) n SC(due to very few reservation only 6 since 2 r reserved for women)900 marks may or may not guarantee u a place in d final list.Moreover u cant predict viva marks.But if u blong to OBC,ST 900 should comfortably give u a place in d final list.In providing d above remarks I took into account last two times mains marks,viva marks,vacancies for various categories n their general trend.
