The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. For views and opinion related to APSC civil services exam, don’t forget to view this APSC 2013 discussion page.

CBI hok enquiry hok. .Faulty should be out. . If only that I will also support but all r corrupted. .
dear all, if you all wants to scrap the cc mains 2013, request to all to please collect at least 5000 signature and sent it to Supreme court as PIL. all you know that there is corruption and some inquiry is also going on as i heard. the corruption in appointment has violated our fundamental rights under article 16 and article 21. so the case can go directly under supreme court. the supreme court has scrap the All India PMT exam result list on 15th June and order fresh exam. so also in case of apsc it will happen if any body seriously think it. can consult with Akhil gogoi. we have example of cancellation of final list by High court after final result such as Oddisha PSC, Jharkhand PCS , Kerela PCS. etc. this can be good example. but nobody want it seriously in assam. only doing politics.??????
Its now or never…scrap the list
notification soon as heard, let’s see, time to change optionals…….bang bang.
Pressure mounting on Govt … inquiry against 12 candidates order has come …removal of chairman won’t happen ultimately 2013 final list may b scrapped if inquiry reports come positive…
NY update on 2015 advt
Thanks once again @ankita & @souvik for your inestimable inputs.. I know for sure you guys will disseminate radiance wherever you go.. Keep quenching the thirst & keep touching the hearts of a few fellow human beings like you are doing it now.. Take a bow!
I do agree with Ankita regarding CBSE textbooks & the Hindu, especially the editorial columns are prerequisite 4 UPSC (both prelim & mains). In depth study of these in a regular manner at 4 1yr will surely give ultimate result.
@ Enthusiastic.. Coaching is not at all a prerequisite for success in UPSC. Not at all. I do agree with Souvik regarding the chronicle magazine but considering the vastness of the UPSC syllabus and time management, if you read “The Hindu” regularly and NCERT textbooks a must, I think all the matters that Chronicle covers are more or less covered. From my experience what I can say is that prelims and mains are both the same exam. Only difference is the former is in objective. So prepare from the mains point of view. It will be helpful in the long run considering the importance GS now holds in the UPSC exam.
And at the same time it is not at all important to study everything whatever you get. What I feel personally is that many students waste a lot of years in this exam studying what is not necessary and just everything whatever they find. Download the syllabus and just stick to it. UPSC never asks questions outside the syllabus. Check the previous years papers you will have an idea. It is about completion of the vast syllabus at first. After you are done with it that means you are done with a major chunk. Then you just need to revise and keep it updating with the current events.
And getting access to the coaching materials from Delhi if you need in case that is not a problem. Will be happy to help.
Thanks @souvik, taken a note of whatever you said..
@enthu,u can further add Chronicle (magazine), CSR & Rau’s Study Materials to d list already provided by Ankita for serious preparation of UPSC. The AASC library has enough materials. If possible, u can approach it. They also provide coaching for intending candidates, only a screening test is required to appear.
@souvik & @ankita, thanks so much for your kind & encouraging words which have no quid pro quo attached to it.. Just straight from the heart.. They always help to arrest the further fall of a fatigued & crestfallen spirit of an individual like me..
@ankita, pleased to know that coaching is not sine qua non for achieving success in UPSC.. Really appreciate you for taking time & effort to mentioning the right approach for UPSC which would go a long way in my preparation..
Without peeping into what akhil gogoi did earlier,i totally support his protest this time, there is a issue for the betterment of the whole society,it’s rather a shame that we ,the students are unable to join for different reasons.Nobody is happy to go to jail and starve for others, that’s what akhil is doing,in the process if he gains people’s support for any political gain ,so what?it needs courage to stand against injustice and we all are trapped in own dreams.
If age is not d factor, one must try UPSC at least 2 in his carrier.A candidate like enthu should go for it. I tried 2 times,2nd time appeared mains, but not cleared. Then due to some factor, left the dream.Joined a central PSU as an executive & worked there 4 eight long years. But wasn’t happy with dat.Again left d job & joined d state govt in clerical cadre, utilized d time effectively for 3 yes.1st time appeared apsc.It clicked, got ACS.So,don’t get demoralized.Anyone can achieve, a bit of luck, patience & obcourse merit…Best of luck Enthu for CC main 2014
