Lakshminath Bezbaroa. The word ‘Rasaraj’ means “King of Humour”. One of the pioneers of modern Assamese literature, Lakshminath Bezbaroah was also a great satirical writer. Bezbarua wrote about a hundred humorous articles under the pen-name Kripabar Barua. Not just articles, he wrote several short stories and poems that are full of wit, humour and satire. For his sense of wit and mastery over humorous writings, Lakshminath Bezbaroa was given the title Rasaraj by his friends, readers and followers.
