Rudra Baruah. Luit Konwar Rudra Barua was one of the pioneers of Assamese music. He was a singer, composer, lyricist, musician and actor. Baruah directed music for several Assamese films. He created many evergreen Assamese songs such as Poka Dhanor Maje Maje, Jiliyee Mate, Asomor Bukure, Polash Fulil etc. In honour of his contribution towards Assamese music and culture, Rudra Barua was conferred with the tile Luit Konwar (meaning Prince of Luit or Brahmaputra).
