The Mongolian people of North East India was mentioned as Mandai or Mandeha in Ramayana time and kirata in the Mahabharata time. The kiratas were known by different names at different geographical areas. The kiratas after hinduisation were given the title as Barman, and according to the hindu caste system they were categorised as Kshatriya.Today no one can say the exact date and time when the dynasty started.According to historian the Barman dynasty was founded by pushy Barman on 350AD which is a false etymology.Because there are many evidnce that the dynasty existed much before pushya Barman ‘s time .Krita Barman who survived in the war of Mahabharata gives us a clue that the Barman Dynasty existed at that time.
