Ahom King Swargadeo Sutamla was known as Bhagania Raja or Bhogonia Roja. The meaning of Bhogonia is ‘one who fled’. Sutamla, also known as Jayadhwaj Singha, was king during the Muslim invasion of 1661. When Mir Jumla reached Ahom Kingdom Gargaon, Sutamla fled to Namrup. So, history refers to him as the Bhagania Roja.
