The Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd. (BRPL) was established in the year 1974. It is located in Dhaligaon of Chirang district, Assam. Bongaigaon refinery was announced by Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India on December 5, 1969. It’s foundation stone was laid on January 19, 1972. Bongaigaon Refinery was incorporated as Government of India Undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on February 20, 1974.
