Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh was the first medical college in Assam. In fact it was the first medical college in entire North East India. The Assam Medical College was first started as Berry-White School of Medicine in the year 1900. In 1910, the college opened India’s first Radiology department. On November 3, 1947, college was officially renamed to Assam Medical College.
