Orunodoi or Aroonudai was the first Assamese language magazine. It was a “monthly paper devoted to religion, science and general intelligence.” The first issue of Orunodoi was printed in January, 1846. It was published from Sibsagar by Oliver Thomas Cutter under the banner of Baptist Missionary Printing Press. The editors were Dr. Nathan Brown, William Ward, A. H. Denforth, and others. Aroonudai was in publication till 1879.
