Lila Gogoi

Lila Gogoi (1930 – 1994) was one of the prominent Assamese writers of the twentieth century. He was a great historian, poet and satirical writer. Lila Gogoi presided over the 1994 session of Asom Sahitya Sabha held at Morigaon, Assam.

Biography:

Lila Gogoi PhotoIn 1951, his career started as a high school teacher. He was the Secretary, Co-ordination Committee for the Production of Textbooks in the Regional Language, Dibrugarh University. In 1981, Lila Gogoi got his Ph.D. from the Dibrugarh University.

Lila Gogoi passed away on July 23, 1994.
