Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.

APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:

Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.

Date of APSC 2013 Main results:

Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. That’s what one APSC employee told us. Basically it is too early to give an exact date. Good one…

    APSC appears in a interview for a job in UPSC..

    UPSC:so Mr. APSC do you consider yourself as honest?

    APSC:yes sir I am an honest guy.. Well.. Actually not always.. But sir most of the times.. Around 80% of the time..

    UPSC(sarcastically): Well then MR . APSC thank you for being honest most of the times.. You may go now..

  • Aji result diba neki?

    Dear friends in my two years since joining this forum I have not come across a single person/comment who can say with utmost conviction that APSC is a totally fair body and anyone with the minutest of horse sense won’t dare to state that as APSC’s previous track record doesn’t allow to do that.

    But most of us generally play safe and say that APSC is not all that corrupt, maximum seats would be allocated on merit basis and things like that.. Now friends what kind of honesty or for that matter transparency are we talking about.. R we talking about APSC being honest or opportunist? Because honesty is not at all a subjective in its meaning.. Someone is either honest or dishonest..APSC can’t be in between these extreme poles which are as different as chalk & cheese.Its as simple as that.

    Anything which deviate from the truth can be anything but the truth. So dear friends be sure what are you talking about? APSC is HONEST or OPPORTUNIST. I have left it for you to decide..

    ps-my comments are not in any way or means directed to anybody. Pl don’t take it personally.

  • Good one trinayan…There was far too much negativity in the previous comments. I personally know 7 ACS candidates within top 25 of 2009 batch who made it by sheer virtue of their hard work..some of these 7 made it in their third straight interview (after being rejected in previous 2)…so, merit does count in APSC..and hats off to the current chairman and members for leasing fresh life into the day to day functioning of the commission..every other day new ads are coming up, results are being declared, the time lag in between advertisement and final result has gone down(although this can be further brought down)..let’s b positive guys.I’m confident of finding my name in the final list just by don’t of hardwork..

  • It has really been difficult to fit d mind on one notion…

    On one hand facts like prior knowledge of two essay theory which someone openly declared is quite disturbing …

    On d other hand d fact that I found my roll no in 2 prelims and 2 mains results and of some of my friends who truly deserves it, in d final list makes me believe in Apsc over and over again….

    As a respite I can hold d view that more than 90% post are given on merit..

    However..in n e case , whether I get selected or not in this second attempt of mine…I shall not echo d view that all is wrong in Apsc and that is d only reason y I could not find my name in d final list…

    i was totally taken aback after seeing two essay and could not plan out instantly of how to write down the other essay and manage the time for the remaining section nonethless the english paper has never been scoring for any candidates.

  • @ enthusiastic..your point is totally valid and relevant. From the beginning APSC’s General English paper had one essay with 100 marks. There was no official notification that there would be two essays in cc 2013 like they did for cc 2014. When I heard it from my friend I laughed at it only to be surprised at the exam hall. If it wasn’t officially disclosed or announced then how come candidates got to know that. And the guys from coaching institutes should take this personally. Its not like all those who were aware of “2 essay” had connection. But it proves that some people had connection.
    @ and all those who still believe that apsc clean, I really envy them. Ignorance is bliss.
    But let’s be optimistic. Apart from sup tax and DTO, 70-80% seats will go to merit ( atleast I strongly believe it). So…
    And one more thing, the pratidin and all those papers are doing good job. News like that once in a while may keep the officials away from corruption out of risk.

  • Enthusiastic on

    And friends if the paper was not leaked then how can these facts about the essays were out. How can one just guess that there would be two essays.. Even if that was a wild guess, but how can you guess that one will be on assam.. It does not imply that all those who knew it had access to the question paper.. But a few ‘lucky’ had definitely knew what was in store..

  • Enthusiastic on

    Friends don’t take it personally. I stated these facts because I have come across guys who have said openly that they have ‘connection’ in APSC. By not accepting the fact you can’t change the fact.. And if you are saying that APSC is totally clean it just implies two things.. Either you are insane or you too have ‘connection’..

  • himadri saikia on

    @etc and other friends.

    I agree with ‘etc’. It seems there is a concerted effort to malign APSC. I too read the Asomiya Pratidin news; they quoted ‘reliable sources’. If any newspaper has genuine facts, it should come clean and clear, and not work like that in yellow journalism.

    They may be some loopholes in APSC; but not everything can be brushed black. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions and be pessimistic all time. If there is any corruption; I am sure all media will come out with a detailed report. Remember, Assamese media is watchful and strong now.

    @etc..
    Ya…d chairman himself said dat most questions ll b based on Assam so dat outsiders find it difficult…n APSC did dat…wat so fishy abt dat I dnt undrstand.I m not suporting or negating anyone..jut put my view.
