APSC CCE 2009 Final Cutoff Marks (Mains + Interview)
APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2013 candidates who appeared in Mains exam are now waiting for the results. What was the cutoff last year? How was your performance? Was it good enough to make it to the list? This article is for those APSC mains candidates. Find below the cutoff marks for various categories against various posts in APSC CCE 2009.
APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2009 Final Cutoff:
Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts Combined Competitive Examination for recruiting in various posts under Assam Civil Services and allied services. Following are the category wise cutoff marks of APSC CCE Final exam 2009 (also called as 2011), result of which was announced on April 26, 2013.

The marks above include interview. That means they are out of all total 1600, not just 1400 of CC (Main) Exam. The highest cutoff was 961 or 60.06% for ACS and APS posts in open category. The lowest cutoff was 762 or 47.62% for Inspector of taxes post in Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category. Category wise, lowest cutoff score for General category was 927 or (57.93%). Lowest OBC cutoff was 833 i.e. 52%. Compared to UPSC Civil Services examination, these values are high.
APSC 2013 Final Cutoff:
Cutoff marks are hard to predict. Because they are influenced by various factors such as candidates in different subjects, pattern of question papers, examiners etc. Higher standards of valuation can easily push cutoff scores down. But it is seen that cutoff marks of civil services examinations fluctuate within a range. The APSC Mains written examination was held in Guwahati from July 1 to July 27, 2014. Though nearly 3000 candidates were selected, several candidates didn’t appeared in the Mains. Also we heard that some papers were tougher than previous years. So, what will be the cutoff for APSC 2013? Will it be around 55-60% for General and 50-55% for OBC? Or it will change drastically? Have any good guess? Feel free to express your views.
Date of APSC 2013 Main results:
Any tentative dates for declaration of APSC 2013 Main exam results? If everything goes smoothly, APSC 2013 Mains examination results will be announced by the end of September or early October. Yes seems like sob natok… Doley arrested much later, after bypoll election, he easily destroyed evidence. What abt ex controller anb Singha?? Where the ethics of exam?? He has key of strong room of questions and answers script paper.. 2014 prelims and mains exam his daughter minerava appeared, he was controller. Recently assam board sec transfer as his son appearing next year board exam then why not Singha?? police looking up this matter?

Neither they hv seild d propertys earlier found by Vigillance SP mukul saikia. Eventually police ll submit a weak case diary to court which would nt b sufficient to convict rakesh or samedur. D main thing behind all dis is to suppress or divert peoples attention from hindu bangladeshi migrants issue so dat it bjp can win d lakhimpur mp seat . Police hv given enough time to paul samedur doley nibir shabnam etc to destroy proofs. Police raided paul samedur apsc officd much after they hv arrested….shame on d system..

What’s the cutoff that you are expecting? It seems you’ve appeared earlier too. Share your experience. Did you reach the interview stage?
@Radical ..The above opinion is only for the white side of the page.For any other alternatives which we are currently hearing,sky is the limit.In those cases just averagely written answers can get you sky rocketing marks.Personally I am yet to see any hard copies of such an answer sheet.You can see such a sample in one of the images posted on the fight against corruption of Apsc’s Facebook page.Please check .Self explanatory.
@Radical..Trust you know that APSC is not UPSC with fixed slots for writing answers.Kiman maan page buli kotha nai buli bhabu.What I meant was words.I have seen a few copies including mine where the length is proportional to the marks being awarded.Don’t understand what standard is being followed.In optional subjects I doubt if writing to the point correct and short answers will get you very good marks.Length is seemingly important.Strangely, ironical though.But probably it depends on lecturer to lecturer as well.Probably you are from science background.
For 8 markers generally 4-5 marks are awarded.But it varies according to optional subjects.One page is immaterial if it contains only 20-30 words.But if you can write within 150-180 words , you can probably expect 6 for correct answers.Past experience.

And I don’t believe in lengthening précis. Professors would straight away discard it. Aru 40marks sai likhibo gole, Heikhon précis buli nkobo aru!!!!
& What about the short answers of 8marks? Kiman maan diye? My short answers have been really short, almost just a page!!!
@Surojit..friend you cited rules and regulations and cancellation of CCE13-14.But is a democracy.We all could see that nothing radical of the sort that everyone was expecting happened.Here I recall the idea of Marx’s class concept from Philosophical perspective-Political class,Business Class,middle class,labour class (proliteriat).There are no differences in the political class.Hope you understand what I mean.
@Radical English is very scoring in APSC provided you can write good length answers in good writing.Why I say good length because a short précis which ideally should be in one third of the total content does not fetch good marks.But when you lengthen the content a bit you can score at least 25-30 out of 40.Is ironical though.The catch I guess for English lies in the Grammatical portion and the essays with 150 marks in total.
@Radical.The marking pattern varies for different subjects.Sore point for APSC without any scaling.For exemplary answers you can probably expect 15-17out of 20 in some subjects like psychology.For average written answers it varies from 9-11 for most subjects.Just namesake answers begets 6-8 marks.Essays are scoring and good length essays without any grammatical errors can get you 35-40.Past experience.
@Bandana.According to the interview of Brig.Borthakur there are lack of resources like computers etc and that for undeclared results they will take govt. opinion.Most computers are with police.The strong room too is sealed till date I guess.So probably it depends on when the court/govt. permits.Hope the final results are declared within the tenure of the present chairman.In case not it will be the same old story.

& I’d be glad if someone could suggest something regarding the marking pattern. Like average marks in a 20marks question or a 50marks essay.

@Bandana your news came true.Do you have any information about the evaluation of CCE-15 mains.Now that we have an upright men as chairman,there won’t be manipulation of answer sheets and preferential treatment to selected few.What you feel guys?
