Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam

The Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. It covers an area of 37 square kms. The sanctuary is known for it’s wild Elephants and Tigers. There are also many other rare wildlife species in the sanctuary. It also harbours 51 rare species of Orchid. The Naambor Wildlife Sanctuary can be reached from Karbi Anglong. November to April is the best time to visit this sanctuary.

Mammals like Tiger, Elephant, Barking deer, Sloe loris, Rhesus macaque, Hoolock gibbon, Gaur, Bears, Sambar, and Wild pig. The Nambor wildlife sanctuary is also home to various species of reptiles and terrestrial woodland birds.

Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary is just 25 kms away from Golaghat town. It’s distance from Kaziranga National Park is about 65kms. The state capital Guwahati is 330kms away from Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary. There are two airports in the vicinity: Dimapur (55kms away) and Jorhat airport (85kms away).
