Answer Key – APSC Prelims 2014 General Studies Paper
Find here the answer key of APSC Prelims 2014. The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducted Combined Competitive (CCE) (Preliminary) on September 28, 2014. Yesterday we examined the General Studies question paper. In our opinion it was a scoring paper. Several questions are basic General Knowledge type. Polity questions are not that tough or approachable. The reasoning questions (8 nos) are easy. As expected there are several Assam related questions. Those who didn’t studied Assam history and geography, might find them tough.
Anyway, we solved 90% of the General Studies question paper in 1 hour (that’s why called it a scoring one). Now it’s your turn to calculate or estimate your score! Following is the answer key (from Assams.info, not official) of the General Studies paper (Series A) of APSC Prelims 2014. Match the answers with yours.

Most of candidate expect nearly 300 marks in this time….. If is true then the cutoff surely increase with a huge margine than last yr….. Plz share ur valuable comments
@Pinky,
That Gopinath Bordoloi is not Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi. So, you are right.
Initially we marked Gopinath Bordoloi as the answer. But later Bhanita and Monica pointed out the mistake. Though not a mistake, they were also correct. So, this question has two answers.
@admin..
I have checked it thorughly Q no 87 (set A) Gopinath Bordoloi, Debicharan Baruah, Kamini Kumar Chandra, Satyanath Baruah and Joy Govindasom all of them represented Assam in the1886 Congress session…. out of these 2 names were given in the options….so both option (a) and (c) should be given correct
@Monica,
Q 41. Thanks for the link. Before posting the answers, we checked that URL. But when we checked official GOI data, there’s no mention of such target in 11th plan.
Q 45. Got the answer. It is Agriculture. Updated the page with details.
@admin,
tele-density : 2010; please refer the following link:
http://www.tenquestion.com/10-multiple-choice-questions-on-five-year-plans-planning-commission/
allocation : still not sure, perhaps agriculture!
Dear admin
When can we expect history ans key ??
@ Vivek,
Thanks for pointing out the typing mistake.
The history paper is not available with us. We can provide the answers (with input from candidates), if someone sends us a scanned copy of the question paper. It applies to other subjects too.
Note: There is a chance that APSC will upload the official answer keys! They usually don’t do that. But this year, they uploaded the answer keys of ADO and J.E. (Agri) screening test.
@ Monica,
Q 2. is a typing mistake. We gave C) as answer but wrote the details of option b).
Q 40. Sure it is Service sector. Have official GOI data.
Q 87. Sorry for the stupid mistake. That’s the result of information overload and lack of time for cross-checking.
Series A qs #99
The logic is right but the answer is B 24
