The Hayagriva-Madhab Temple

It is believed that this temple contains the relic of Lord Buddha and also that Lord Buddha attained ‘Nirvana’ here. The Hayagriva-Madhab Temple has a large, but mutilated stone image of Lord Vishnu in the ‘Hayagriva’ (horse-neck) form. Buddhists worship the large statue of old Madhab as their God ‘Mahamuni’ i.e. ‘Bhagwan Buddha’. A large number of Bhutanese vists this holy shrine of Assam durng winter season.
The distance to this temple, from Guwahati City is about 32 km. Regular bus services to Hajo are available from Guwahati. Yatra Utsab, Doul Utsab, Janmastami and Ashokastami are the important festivals, that are celebrated in this temple.

India-Pakistan exchanges lists of Nuclear installations

India and Pakistan today, exchanged lists of their nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between both the countries.
