Guwahati:

Guwahati is the gateway to the beautiful North Eastern India. This rapidly growing city is a major financial hub and centre of higher education in the entire region. Places to see in Guwahati includes Kamakhya temple, Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Nabagraha temple, Vasishtha, Assam State Zoo, Planetarium, State Museum, Umananda temple etc.

Sibsagar:

Sibsagar is a historic town in upper Assam. Sibsagar was the capital of the Ahoms who ruled Assam for six hundred years before the arrival of the British. Situated in the heart of Sibsagar is the "Shiva Temple", the tallest lord Shiva temple in India. There are many monements and structural remainings of Ahom dynasty in and around the town. Sibsagar is also a leading tea and oil producing district

Tezpur:

Tezpur is an ancient City on the banks of the river Brahmaputra and is the largest of the north bank towns. Tezpur is considered to be the cultural capital of Assamese culture. Places to see in Tezpur includes Agnigarh (or Usha-Aniruddha Udyan), Bhairabi Temple, Cole Park, Ketakeshwar Dewa, Mahabhairav Temple and 3.015 km long road bridge "Kolia Bhomora Setu" across the river Brahmaputra.

Majuli:

Majuli, the world's largest river island is situated in the heart of mighty river Brahmaputra. Majuli is also the centre of Vishnava culture in Assam. There are nearly twenty two Vaishnava monasteries or satras in Majuli. The major satras are Kamalabari, Natun Kamalabari, Auniati, Garmur, Samoguri, Dakhinpat and Bengenaati.

Sualkuchi:

Sualkuchi is a silk town that produces three unique varieties of silks: the Golden Muga, the White Pat and the Eri. It is one of the world's largest weaving villages and is often called the Manchester of the East. Silks grown all over the state find their way to Sualkuchi, where almost 100% of the population is engaged in weaving exquisite silk fabrics. Note that Muga is the unique golden silk, found only in Assam.

Bhalukpung:

Bhalukpung is situated on the bank of the river Jia Bhoroli. It is famous for its unique natural beauty, angling and rafting. Far from the madding crowd Bhalukpung is a place of peace and tranquility.

Digboi:

Surrounded by green Tea Gardens and blue hills, Digboi is a major oil town in upper Assam. The Digboi Refinery, established in 1901, was the first in Asia and second one in the world.
