Two militants killed in encounters in Assam

On Saturday, two militants, one from the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and the other from the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), were killed in separate encounters in lower Assam. The ULFA cadre was killed when a joint Assam police and Indian Army operation was launched at Maladhara in Goalpara district. The dead militant has been identified as ‘Sergeant’ Dilip Rabha alias Laden of ULFA’s 109 battalion.

On the other hand, an NDFB militant was killed in a separate encounter with security forces at Bijni in Chirang district of Assam. According to official sources, a 9-mm pistol and some documents were recovered from dead militant.
