A R Rahman joins others in remake of "We are the World"

Oscar winning Indian musician A.R. Rahman joined voices with music industry’s biggest names in re-recording of Michael Jackson’s "We are the World". After winning two Grammy Awards, Rahman headed straight to Henson Recording studio in Los Angeles (USA), where the original was recorded about 25 years back.
The re-recording of "We Are The World" included over 75 world-class stars and is aimed at raising fund for earthquake affected Haiti. The new charity single will make its world premiere during Vancouver Winter Olympics on February 12.
Besides Rahman, top names in the music industry like Celine Dion, Kanye West, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Jonas Brothers, Snoop Dogg, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jamie Foxx, Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Josh Groban, Carlos Santana, Gladys Knight, etc. were part of the historic re-recording of "We Are The World". Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie oversaw the production. The accompanying video of the charity single has been shot by Oscar winning Paul Haggis.
