Ex-Pakistani Air Chief Marshal in Indian Government Ad
Assam News · January 24, 2010
In a full-page advertisement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, India, added a photograph of former Pakistan Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed. Yes, you read it right. A picture of Ex- PAF chief, Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed in an Indian government advertisement. Take a look at the picture below.
In the print ad, the picture of Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed in uniform appeared along with those of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath, Cricketer Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag and sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. The full-page newspaper advertisement appeared on the occasion of ‘National Girl Child Day’ and it says "Where would you be if your mother was not allowed to be born?"
The Prime Minister’s Office is not happy with this and in an statement released on Sunday apologised for the inclusion of photograph of a "foreign national" in the government advertisement on girl child. The PMO has also ordered an internal inquiry into the lapse.
The advertisement was prepared by government agency, the DAVP and was released after approval of Krishna Tirath’s ministry. This is an embarrassing moment both for the government and the citizens of India. Who is responsible for this? Why nobody noticed the error before the ad went to media? It looks like people back in DAVP are either illiterate or extremely careless.

This is too much. And this kind of things happens only in India. Because most of our politicians and their crew are not even eligible for the post of ‘Chaiwala’. They only know how to take bribe and spend public money. Look at the ad, even a class V student can prepare a better copy with assorted images.
Fire all those involved in this ad campaign and recruit some talented graduates.
ha ha ha PAKISTAN FOBIA
Grow up people. Don’t forget that India and Pakistan were together in past. If we all try hard, we can live in peace together as good neighbours.
This pic was not supposed to be there. Everyone knows that. Take it lightly and don’t make it a big issue.
