ICC World Cup hosts may play quarter and semi-finals in their home country

The host countries of the 2011 Cricket World Cup may get to play the quarterfinal and semi-finals matches in their home country if their teams reach those stages. It means India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the host countries of the 2011 Cricket World Cup, will play at home if they passes the knockout stage of the tournament.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) has supported a request from the 2011 World Cup central organizing committee on this regard and made a recommendation to the ICC Board. The ICC Board will consider the proposal during the first of the four meetings of 2010, in February, in Dubai.
As per schedule two quarter finals of 2011 Cricket World Cup are slated to be held in Bangladesh while India and Sri Lanka are scheduled to host the other two. The semi-finals, according to the schedule, will be held in Ahmedabad (India) and Colombo (Sri Lanka) respectively.
