Peshawar bomb blast kills 3

On Monday, at least three people were killed in a bombing that rocked the northwestern city of Peshawar in Pakistan. The bomb blast occurred a day after a powerful suicide bomb blast left 13 people dead, including the city mayor.

The explosion took place at Patang Chowk area near Faqirabad police station, Geo News reported Monday. According to eyewitnesses, the explosives were placed in a vehicle. The explosion set a rickshaw on fire. Three people were killed on the spot in the blast.

Just a day before, 13 people, including the city mayor, were killed and 36 were wounded near here when a suicide bomber blew up a car.

Pakistan has witnessed a series of terror strikes as the army battles the Taliban in mountainous South Waziristan. The Taliban have vowed to retaliate. The latest wave of militant violence started with a suicide bombing at the offices of the UN World Food Programme in Islamabad October 5. Peshawar faced this year’s worst terror attack in October 28 when over 110 people were killed in a massive bombing at a crowded market.
