First Fog of the Season covers Delhi

Residents of New Delhi today woke up to a day of dense fog that engulfed the entire capital making mobility difficult for commuters. his is first fog of the winter season. Traffic on the roads moved at a snail’s pace in the early hours due to poor visibility. The vehicles had switched on their fog and tail lights to avoid accidents.
The fog disrupted the running of trains. Motorists, two-wheelers and auto rickshaw drivers had a tough time due to cold and fog. A major part of north India experiences early morning fog every winter season. The dense fog also affected flights. Due to poor visibility, most of the in-bound and out-bound flights were delayed. The recent installation of advanced anti-fog equipment at the Delhi airport has improved its functioning but it needs at least 15 metres height visibility and a visual range of 200 metres for flights to take off.
