Shiney Ahuja out of Jail

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja is out of jail! After spending 110 days in jail for allegedly raping his 20-year-old domestic help, Shiney Ahuja today walked out of the Arther Road jail as the Bombay High Court granted his bail. Shiney has been accused of raping his teenage domestic help at his Andheri (West) home on June 14 and was in custody since then.

Shiney Ahuja came out of the jail on Saturday afternoon after furnishing a surety money of Rs 50,000. Shiney will shortly leave for New Delhi, as the court told him to stay out of Mumbai. He was also told to submit his passport to the police, as he can’t leave India without permission. Shiney’s bail came after three-day hearing where the Bollywood actor’s lawyers presented several seasons foe his immediate release.

Following an assurance by Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Shiney’s case was transferred from a sessions court to a fast-track court in Sewri where the trial is due to start soon. Earlier the lower courts had rejected his bail application twice.
