Madonna wins adoption appeal

Pop diva Madonna can now adopt a Malawian kid. A high Malawian court has ruled that Madonna can adopt a second child from the country. The 50-year-old was devastated in March when her bid to add 4-year-old Mercy James to her growing brood was rejected on the grounds that prospective parents have to be resident in the country for 18 to 24 months prior to an adoption.

madonna_sexy Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo ruled that her initial denial by the lower court was based on an old law, and that although she hasn’t lived in the country for 18 months, her commitment to the children of Malawi should be recognized. Madonna’s lawyer said she was "ecstatic" when she heard the news that the adoption was finalized. Plans for Mercy to fly to the States via private jet are already being made, once her passport is in order. The singer has two biological children Lourdes, 12, and Rocco, eight and Malawian-born adopted kid David Banda.
